Privacy policy

BizEAC is a public directory of businesses in East Africa and of the people who lead and own them. This page explains what personal information appears on the site, where it comes from, what we record about visitors, and how to ask for a correction or removal.
What we publish
Company profiles name the managers, directors and shareholders of each company. A person's profile can show:
- their name, title and photo
- their roles in companies and their shareholdings
- their country of citizenship and of residence, where a public source gives them
- links to their public website and social media profiles
We do not publish personal phone numbers, personal email addresses or home addresses.
Where it comes from
Everything on BizEAC comes from public sources: company websites, business news, official registries and announcements, and the published reports of development finance institutions. We do not use social networks, people-search sites or contact-scraping sites as sources about people.
Profiles are compiled with the help of automated tools, including AI language models, which work from those sources, and every statement in a profile rests on a source we keep on record. Automated tools can make mistakes; if you find one, please tell us.
Why we publish it
We publish this information so that anyone, whether an investor, a partner, a supplier, a job seeker or a journalist, can find out who is behind the businesses of East Africa. We publish information about people only in connection with their roles in business.
When you visit
You can use BizEAC without an account, and we never ask you for personal information.
- The site sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking tools.
- Pages load no scripts or fonts from other companies. Some portraits and company logos load from other sites; when your browser requests those images, those sites receive your IP address and can see which images you request.
- Our servers keep technical logs of requests, with your IP address, your browser type and the address of the page, which includes any search terms. We use these logs only to keep the site running and secure, and keep them only as long as that requires.
Links to other sites
Profiles link to company websites, email addresses and social media pages. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which this one does not cover.
Corrections and removal
If you are named on BizEAC, you can ask us to correct information about you that is wrong or out of date, or to remove it. Write to us at the address below, with the address of the page and what should change. We look into every request, and correct or remove the information where it is warranted.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when the site changes. The date at the top of the page shows when it last changed.
